AICE Academy at PRHS Admission Requirements
A student must submit an application to the Advanced Studies coordinator to be reviewed. The minimum requirements to be considered include:
FCAT Level 4 or 5 in mathematics and reading on 7th grade FCAT*
Students with a FCAT level 3 may be considered if they have an A in the academic area in which you are a level 3.
*Note: 8th grade FCAT scores and grades must satisfy the above criteria for final admission into the program. Since these are not available at the time of application, 7th grade scores will be used for preliminary qualification.

- Grades of A or B in all core academics (minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA)
- Collier/FCAT Writes score of 4 or higher or writing sample
- Student in good standing with the CCPS Attendance & Discipline Plan
- Non-public school applicants must score 85th percentile or above in Reading and Math on other standardized tests
- Teacher recommendations (one each from English, Math and Science)
- Must be zoned for Palmetto Ridge High School
- DParent Signature

How much High School credit is each Pre-AICE / AICE course worth?
Each course irrespective if it is Honors, Pre-AICE, Dual-Enrollment, Advanced Placement or AICE is worth 1 credit.
A = 4.0 B = 3.0 C = 2.0 D = 1.0 F = 0.0
You can work out you GPA by adding all the points from the courses you have taken and dividing them by number of courses you have taken. This gives you your average, unweighted GPA.
Certain courses such as Honors, Pre-AICE, Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement or AICE are awarded extra points.

How much College credit is each Pre-AICE / Honors course worth?
Pre-AICE / Honors courses are not college credit courses. They intent is to prepare candidates with the skills required to take the more rigorous AICE & Advanced Placement courses which are worth college credit.
