Welcome to the Palmetto Ridge High School Dual Enrollment program
Dual enrollment is a program that allows high school students to simultaneously earn college or vocational credit toward a postsecondary diploma, certificate, or degree at a Florida public institution while also earning credit toward a high school diploma. Dual enrollment courses are free to students who attend a Florida public college, technical center, or university; this includes registration, matriculation, or laboratory fees for courses taken through dual enrollment. Instructional materials (such as books) are provided to public school students free of charge; however, students enrolled in home education programs or nonpublic secondary schools must provide their own materials. To qualify for Dual Enrollment, a student must meet the criteria that are established by the Student Progression Plan of CCPS and which are included in the Inter-institutional Articulation Agreement with the other institution.
Students in Collier County can take Dual Enrollment classes in three formats and in any combination:
• At their high school

How Dual Enrollment can help you
• Tuition, lab fees, and textbooks are free to high school students.
• Since students can earn high school and college credit at the same time, they can shorten the time required to earn a college degree. Dual Enrollment offers challenging courses that are guaranteed to transfer to any public Florida College or University and most out-of-state universities. Typically students who participate in Dual Enrollment graduate from college earlier and with better grades.

Post-Secondary Partners
Dual Enrollment (DE) or Early Admissions (EA) at FSW is a successful acceleration mechanism that allows students to pursue an advanced curriculum relevant to their individual post-secondary interests. Each year, more than 3,500 students across FSW’s five-county district experience college life through its Dual Enrollment program. Over the years, thousands of students have taken college courses towards both their high school and college degree. Some students choose to take a few courses to get a head start on their college coursework, while others complete the necessary requirements of earning an Associate of Arts degree at the same time they are graduating from high school. Students have the option of taking classes at their high school, on any of FSW’s campuses, or online.
The Accelerated Collegiate Experience at FGCU is designed to bring a unique educational experience to qualified junior and senior high school students who are seeking advanced study options. The program provides part-time or full-time study at FGCU in which students earn college credit while simultaneously completing a high school diploma. High school juniors who enroll in the ACE program full time and who meet qualifying criteria during their first year in the program will be able to join the ACE Honors Program during their senior year. Participants in the ACE Honors Program will have access to FGCU Honors Program classes which include enriched curriculum taught by Honors Fellows and may include research opportunities in either the sciences or social sciences.
